The Face At The Bottom Of The Well

The face at the bottom of the well looked up at me. I was thinking who this person might be. A still face, with no emotions, no desires, no expressions and no fear. Yet waiting for me to help them. They are somehow lonely and different from all the others. They were thrown outside from society for being divergent, for being bold, for being themselves. Society never likes anyone who shows courage to makes another break up the rules and reform the societal principles. Why would they want anyone to break the rules? Why would they consider someone who is valiant enough to bring the change, as a part of their tribe or culture?

This person who looks at me has a pure heart, has a mind of their own, this person has a love for everyone. They would never betray anyone or lose anyone. The aforementioned person is full of compassion and a heart filled with love for every person who had hurt them or betrays them. They have no complaints or resentment for any person they have across with. They just wanted to bring some change in society and for the future generation. Furthermore, they are visionary, farsighted and hopeful.

They wanted to see a better future for the coming generation, just so that they would not have to suffer like the previous generation. The only crime this person might have done in their life is not giving enough love to themselves, not caring about themselves. They believed in loving others rather than equally receiving the love back just as well. Somehow, the face at the bottom of the well tells me to love myself first and how crucial it is to respect yourself. And then finally I realized, in the end, that the person looking at me is my own reflection.
